LAFIA — The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two individuals suspected of criminal conspiracy, trespassing, theft, and unlawful possession of a firearm in Keffi Local Government Area.
In a statement released on Sunday, Superintendent Rahman Nansel, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, said the incident was reported at approximately 10:30 a.m. on May 30 2026 at the Keffi Divisional Headquarters by a resident of Kofar Hausa.
The complainant claimed that Shafiu Abdul‑Rauf, a local of the same area, entered his room without permission and fled with his Android phone after being discovered.
Following the report, detectives carried out an intelligence‑led operation that resulted in the arrest of Shafiu Abdul‑Rauf and Usman Abdulmumuni, both residents of Mayanka in Keffi.
The search of the suspects yielded a locally manufactured pistol loaded with one live cartridge, two cutlasses, one knife, two Tecno Android phones, one Itel phone, a bundle of keys, and other items.
The Command confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue to determine their involvement in other criminal activities.
Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed praised the officers for their swift response and professionalism during the operation.
Mohammed also assured residents of the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, and urged the public to keep providing timely and credible information to aid security operations across the state.
