A Nigerian man wearing a cap emblazoned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s insignia has attracted online attention after posting a video recorded at a train station in China, where he urged fellow Nigerians to make thoughtful choices in the 2027 general elections.
In the widely shared clip, the man identifies the setting as Sancha train station, lauds China’s rapid development, and criticises Nigerian politicians for mismanaging public resources and neglecting infrastructure.
Speaking in a blend of English and Pidgin, he gestures toward the modern transport facilities around him and asks what elected officials in Nigeria are doing with the nation’s wealth.
Man compares China’s development with Nigeria
The speaker argues that the train station demonstrates how Chinese leaders prioritise development and provide equal opportunities to all citizens, irrespective of social status.
He claims that both wealthy and poor Nigerians would enjoy the same public amenities if they lived in the Asian country.
“I’m at the train station in Sancha. Guys, this is train station. This place is train station.
So, you see, look at the view. So, these our politicians. They know all this up there.
This is train station in China. So, what are you people doing in that Abuja, in that House of Assembly, Senate, House of Representatives?
Wetin una dey represent us? Come China, come see, there is no rich man, there is no poor man.
They eat the same thing, they wear the same cloth, they do something for their people.”
Advises Nigerians ahead of 2027 elections
The man also tells Nigerians to reject politicians who fail to deliver good governance, urging voters to base their choices on competence rather than monetary inducements.
He suggests that, if offered money by a candidate, voters should accept it but still cast their ballots according to conscience.
“Nigerians, any politicians, wey no do well, no vote am. Collect him money, chop am.
If they give you money, don’t reject it. Collect their money, vote your conscience. These our politicians, they are very, very wicked set of people.
See, no mind anybody face oo. If they want to give you money, collect the money, during vote, vote your conscience. What you see here, this is train station.”
He continues, noting that China’s level of equality and development impressed him, observing that ordinary citizens and affluent individuals alike use the same transport systems.
He adds that the country’s infrastructure and sense of unity should serve as a lesson for Nigerian leaders and youths.
“In one of the states first oo, poor man, they dey here. Rich man, they dey here. Children, they dey here.
The same thing with flights. These people no even know which one be economy. They are just equal.
They love each other, they love their country. See development in the country, see where I stand. There is an underground here too.
Nigerian youth, any politician that gives you money, collect the money, eat the money, vote your conscience. That is my hope. Thank you.”
