Riyom youth condemn Plateau killings and warn the perpetrators.

The Riyom Youth Council (RYC), the youth wing of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Plateau State, has issued a strong condemnation of the recent attacks in Rim, Jol, Bachit, Fan, Nding, and parts of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, which resulted in loss of innocent lives and property damage.

The council denounced the senseless killings of innocent citizens, labeling the acts as barbaric, painful, inhuman and unacceptable.

They said the incidents represent a serious setback that could threaten the peaceful coexistence that residents have worked hard to maintain over the years.

Chairman Pam Nuhu Daniel and secretary Patience Chaimang expressed their stance while addressing journalists in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, urging youths in Riyom LGA not to take the law into their own hands or be manipulated by opponents of peace to incite further violence.

“We must remain law-abiding and continue to work together for peace, unity, and stability. We also call on security agencies to intensify efforts toward arresting the perpetrators of these heinous acts and ensuring that justice is served,” it stated.

Commenting on the 2027 elections, they urged all political aspirants and actors to prioritize the constituency’s overall interest over personal ambition and to respect the zoning arrangement already established by local elders.
