The Governing Council of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has terminated the employment of its Director of Information and Communication Technology, Isah Yusuf Tsafe, after concluding that he had engaged in gross misconduct, negligence, and had failed to account for university assets under his care.

The decision was announced in a statement released by the university’s Head of Information and Public Relations, Jamilu Magaji.

According to the statement, the council acted after disciplinary proceedings had established allegations of misconduct against the former director.

In a separate disciplinary action, the council demoted ICT staff member Abdullahi Mohammed Adamu by one grade level and prohibited him from receiving any promotion for the next five years.

The university said that Adamu was found to have conducted financial transactions with parents of prospective students and had participated in admission-related activities, even though he was not part of the university’s admissions process.

“The Council also directed the university management to recover or surcharge the value of all outstanding university property linked to the case,” the statement added.

The statement noted that the decisions reflected the council’s commitment to upholding merit, discipline, and professionalism in university administration, while ensuring that accountability and responsible conduct remain central to its operations.
