Five Arrested for Alleged Attack on Hisbah Officials During Katsina Operation

Five young men were detained after allegedly assaulting officials of the Hisbah Board during a routine enforcement operation in the Furagirke community of Rimi Local Government Area, Katsina State.

The Rimi Local Government Hisbah Board released a statement saying the attack happened while its operatives were conducting a standard exercise to curb immoral activities in the area.

Three of the suspects are residents of Furagirke, while the other two come from the Yandurumma community.

Following an investigation, the board said the youths were apprehended and sanctioned for their conduct.

According to the board, the suspects admitted their wrongdoing and pledged not to repeat such actions or hinder the agency’s future activities.

The statement also noted that the parents of the youths visited the board to apologise for their children’s behaviour and requested leniency.

Reaffirming its mandate, the board reiterated its commitment to promoting moral conduct and maintaining public order throughout the local government area.
