England, Portugal, Ghana, Egypt, and Paraguay secured spots in the World Cup's last 32 after the outcomes of other matches on Friday.
Paraguay is the only team that has completed all three group matches; the other four teams still have one group game remaining but are already guaranteed a place in the knockout stage of the 48‑team tournament.
In the expanded format, the eight highest‑ranking third‑placed teams advance to the last 32.
England, Portugal, Ghana, Egypt, and Paraguay are assured of at least one of those spots, even under the most adverse circumstances.
Each of the five teams has accumulated four points, a figure that cannot be overtaken by the third‑placed teams in Groups A (South Korea, 3 points), C (Scotland, 3 points), H (Uruguay 2 points, Cape Verde 3 points), and I (Senegal, 3 points), all of which have finished their group stages.
