Six African Teams Qualify for the 2026 World Cup Round of 32

Six of the ten African teams at the 2026 World Cup have secured places in the Round of 32.

Cape Verde and Ghana confirmed their spots after Saturday’s matches.

Although the Black Stars still have a final group game against Croatia, Spain’s 1‑0 victory over Uruguay guarantees their progression.

Cape Verde’s third straight draw at the tournament left them in second place behind Spain.

They join Egypt, Morocco, South Africa and Côte d’Ivoire in the knockout stage.

Tunisia has been eliminated, while Senegal, Algeria and the DR Congo await determination of the best third‑place teams.
