Belgium secured a 5‑1 victory over New Zealand on Friday, earning their first win of the tournament and topping Group G in Vancouver. Leandro Trossard scored twice for the Red Devils, while Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Saelemaekers added one goal each. Belgium finished first, ahead of Egypt on goal difference.
Egypt finished as runners‑up in their group after a 1‑1 draw with Iran in Seattle, with the Iranians taking third place.
