No mortal can bring me down — Yul Edochie

Actor Yul Edochie has responded to recent criticism about his personal life, asserting that neither “mortal nor spirit” can bring him down. The comments come amid a public dispute involving his marriage to actress Judy Austin and Austin’s former husband, Emmanuel Obasi.

In a Facebook post published on Sunday, Edochie said he has endured false claims for years but remains unaffected by them.

“My aura gives my enemies sleepless nights. In the last 4 years they’ve told all sorts of lies against me and they all failed,” he wrote.

He accused the latest narrative that he “took another man’s wife” of being part of a coordinated effort to damage his reputation, calling the allegations misleading.

Edochie described Obasi as a man who left his marriage in 2013, remarried, and later resurfaced publicly after his former wife gained attention.

“A man who left his wife in 2013, married another woman and moved on… years after he sees the ex-wife is now doing well and comes back to attach himself,” he wrote.

He dismissed the accusations, stating he remains unfazed by criticism.

“I’m a rock. No mortal or spirit can bring me down. I’m a chosen one. A lion. A king,” he added.

According to Edochie, his resilience stems from “God’s grace,” and he cites his ongoing relevance and fan support as evidence of divine backing.

The controversy intensified after Judy Austin reacted to remarks made by her ex‑husband, Emmanuel Obasi, during a viral appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast.

Obasi claimed that Edochie was “harbouring” his children and preventing him from accessing them, allegations that Judy has strongly denied.

In a video response, she defended the actor, insisting he has been supportive of her children and should not be vilified.

“Please, you people should stop insulting Yul Edochie. For everything, he has helped me take care of kids who are not his biological children… he puts a roof over their heads, pays their school fees, and feeds them,” she said.

Judy also clarified that she met Edochie in 2016 on a movie set, stating that their relationship began long after her marriage to Obasi had ended. She added that the backlash against the actor is unfair and harmful, especially to single mothers seeking support.

The dispute continues to provoke heated reactions across social media, with divided opinions over the allegations and counter‑claims.
