The Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran is set to be signed on Friday at the Burgenstock resort in central Switzerland.

According to Israel’s Channel 12, a key element of the agreement requires the end of U.S.–Iran hostilities and the cessation of fighting that involves their respective allies, including Lebanon.

Iran has agreed not to develop or acquire nuclear weapons. Tehran and Washington have also committed to discuss Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium in future talks.

During further negotiations, Iran must continue its existing nuclear program, while the U.S. will refrain from imposing new sanctions or expanding military forces in the region.

Iran will ensure free and safe commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz for a period of 60 days. In return, the U.S. will release frozen Iranian assets once the MoU takes effect.

The U.S. will withdraw its forces within 30 days and lift all sanctions on Iran once a final agreement is reached. The final deal is expected to include a $300 billion reconstruction fund for Iran.

The U.S. will also grant temporary sanctions waivers that allow Iran to sell oil during the negotiation period. Gulf states will coordinate on maritime and shipping arrangements.

The U.S., Iran, and Gulf states have expressed their commitment to the MoU, which is being mediated by Pakistan. However, Israel remains concerned, as reflected in its rhetoric about the deal.

Israel’s National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, has already stated, “We are not party to this agreement. It does not safeguard our security.”

On Tuesday, Iran’s Khatam al‑Anbiya Central Headquarters reported that Israel had violated the Lebanon ceasefire 84 times in 48 hours, even after President Donald Trump announced the conflict’s end.
