African champions Super Falcons defeated Senegal 3–0 in their second friendly at Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Monday.
Justine Madugu’s side had already beaten fellow West Africans 2–1 in the first friendly last Friday.
The Super Falcons were inefficient in the first half, missing several opportunities.
Washington Spirit forward Gift had the first clear chance of the match, but her controlled shot did not trouble the Senegalese goalkeeper.
Two minutes later, Joy Omewa was played through on goal by captain Rasheedat Ajibade, yet her effort struck the upright.
In the 32nd minute, the Super Falcons missed another good chance to take the lead because of a lack of communication between Toni Payne and Ajibade.
The breakthrough came four minutes after the break when Omewa headed home the opening goal.
Omewa added a second goal with a composed finish in the 55th minute.
In the 63rd minute, Nigeria made a double substitution, bringing on Asisat Oshoala and Folashade Ijamilusi to replace Rinsola Babajide and Omewa.
Oshoala was set up by Ajibade for the home team’s third goal in the 66th minute.
Despite creating more chances, the Super Falcons did not extend their advantage further.
