A violent clash between youths from Tungar Kanwa and Gajarawa villages in Morai District, Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State, left several people injured and caused seven suspects to flee the scene.

The incident was reported on X by security analyst Zagazola Makama on Friday. According to the post, the confrontation began on Thursday at about 10:30 am and soon escalated into a broader clash between the two communities before security forces intervened and restored order.

Security officials said armed personnel were dispatched to the area after a distress call was received around 1:00 pm, which helped bring the situation under control.

Multiple residents sustained injuries during the violence. In Gajarawa village, the injured included Hakimi Tambaya (58), Umaru Abdullahi (22), Uzairu Aliyu (20), Usama Aliyu (22), Junaidu Umaru (20), and Kabiru Abdullahi (20). In Tungar Kanwa, Abdurahman Abubakar (25) and Kabiru Abu‑Babba (42) were also wounded.

Makama noted that all injured victims were transported to the General Hospital in Kagara for treatment, while those in critical condition were referred to the Orthopaedic Hospital in Wamakko for specialized care.

Security sources identified seven suspected masterminds of the violence who remain at large. “They include Shiitu Abubakar, Ibrahim Sanda, Abu Rigima, Dan Shehu Hakimi, Anas Buba Kungiya, Hassan Dandago, and Nura Kwaimo, all from Tungar Kanwa village,” Makama added.
