The Super Eagles controlled the rest of the first half, limiting Jamaica’s opportunities.

At the 90th minute, Nigeria won the ball in their own half and launched a swift counter‑attack. Despite tight marking, Yusuf broke free and delivered a perfectly weighted through ball to a New England Revolution star, who wrapped the ball around a defender and curled the shot into the back of the net, finishing the 3–0 scoreline.
