Senegal winger Ismaila Sarr expressed disappointment after the Teranga Lions’ 3‑2 loss to Norway in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026.

Pape Thiaw’s side suffered their second defeat of the tournament in a thrilling match at the New York/New Jersey Stadium.

The result left Norway and France qualified for the Round of 32 from the group, while Senegal must win their final group game against Iraq to keep knockout‑stage hopes alive.

Holmgren Pedersen and Manchester City star Erling Haaland scored for Norway.

Sarr, who scored both goals for Senegal in the closely contested match, said the result was hard to accept but insisted the team remains focused on a comeback.

“It was tough. We’re a little disappointed. But it’s not over yet, there’s still a third game to play. We’re going to go there to win it, and we’re going to work hard,” Sarr told FIFA.com.
