Jamaica head coach Rudolph Speid has warned that the Reggae Boyz will face a tough challenge against the Super Eagles, calling the Nigerian side a formidable opponent.

The teams will meet in the 2026 Unity Cup final at the Valley in London on Saturday night.

The match will repeat last year’s final, which the Super Eagles won 5‑4 on penalties after a 2‑2 draw in regulation time.

Speid Optimistic Of Victory

Speid believes his side can achieve a better result against Éric Chelle’s squad this time.

“It’s always exciting to play against Nigeria; they play exciting football. They’re one of the powerhouses in Africa, so it’s always good. We always look forward to playing them,” Speid said ahead of the game.

“Last year was very exciting, this year, I hope we’ll have better results against them.”

“We saw them play [on Tuesday] so we’ll do some more analysis on what they will be doing and then we will decide if we need to change anything.”

The Reggae Boyz earned a place in the final with a 2‑0 win over India.

Nigeria secured a comfortable 2‑0 victory over Zimbabwe’s Warriors in their semi‑final.
