Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton has expressed strong confidence that Arsenal can defeat PSG in tonight’s Champions League final.

After celebrating Arsenal’s first Premier League title in 22 years, Hamilton has been outspoken in his support for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The seven‑time world champion recorded a personal good‑luck message for the Gunners, a gesture that felt very meaningful to him.

On his X account he wrote: “This is to the team, Arsenal, my team, I’m so proud of you guys, thank you so much for all you do.”

“Keep pushing. Keep believing in yourself. I’ll be right there with you.”

“I’m going to be watching this final. So just go out and have fun.”

Arteta’s squad has not appeared in a Champions League final since 2006, when they were beaten by Barcelona by two late goals from Samuel Eto o and Juliano Belletti.

Golden Moment

When Hamilton was a 19‑year‑old Formula 3 driver in 2004, Arsenal’s Invincibles finished the league season unbeaten. He was still three years away from his Formula 1 debut.

“We’ve had so many close moments and to finally get it was ‘wow,’” Hamilton added.

“A lot of emotion came up for me, as I’m sure for so many people – they’re just so happy and proud of the team.”

“Obviously Arsène was great. I think the direction they’ve gone in the past couple of years has been just fantastic, so very inspired by what they’ve done.”

Connection to the Club

Hamilton’s ties to Arsenal go back to his childhood in Stevenage, where his sister playfully “forced” him to support the North London club when he was five.

He recently admitted to shedding tears of joy when Arsenal won the Premier League title, and said he drew personal inspiration from the squad’s leadership and team‑building strategies as he prepares for his own racing chapters with Ferrari.
