Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong criticized First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her recent call on Nigerians to start small‑scale businesses. Effiong said the First Lady should first establish such ventures for her family members and for women leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Effiong posted his remarks on his X account on Saturday.
He urged the First Lady to set up corn, akara and kuli kuli businesses for some of her relatives and APC women leaders, arguing that this would demonstrate confidence in the enterprises she recommends.
“Senator Remi Tinubu should first set up Corn, Akara and Kuli Kuli business for some members of her family and the APC women leaders,” Effiong wrote. “It will encourage other Nigerians to venture into the same business.”
“Since she believes that with such ventures, one can make enough money to feed, pay house rent, pay school fees and solve other basic needs,” he added.
The lawyer also criticized President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady, accusing them of poor leadership.
“A family where the husband and wife are wicked and greedy shouldn’t be allowed close to the presidency of a country,” Effiong said. “Bola Tinubu and Remi Tinubu are very vicious and extremely dangerous.”
“The unborn generation of Nigerians will not forgive the present generation for allowing wicked people to hold this country down,” he concluded.
