Ivory Coast striker Elye Wahi has been denied a visa to enter Canada for the World Cup match against Germany.

According to The Athletic, the denial stems from an ongoing investigation into match‑fixing allegations, which conflicts with Canadian immigration regulations.

The Ivory Coast will face Germany in Group E at the Toronto Stadium.

The West African side won their opening World Cup match 1‑0 over Ecuador.

This follows the Canadian government’s recent decision to bar Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey from entering the country amid sexual‑assault allegations he is facing.

Partey consequently missed Ghana’s 1‑0 World Cup victory over Panama this week.
