Ondo State Football Association (ODSFA) Chairman Divine Ogbonnaya praised Sunshine Queens for their resilience and professionalism after the team secured a 1‑0 victory over Confluence Queens in the President Federation Cup.

The Akure‑based side won the match at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.

Ogbonnaya said the qualification reflected the squad’s unwavering commitment to excellence.

He added that the players displayed the right mentality to overcome a tough opponent.

“The girls showed tremendous character and tactical maturity against a very strong opposition,” Ogbonnaya told the club’s media after the game.
