LAGOS — The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has halted all overnight vigils and ordered that church services across the country finish by 8:00 p.m., citing increasing security concerns nationwide.
The order, which takes immediate effect, was issued in a circular dated 5 June 2026 and addressed to Regional Overseers and branch pastors of the ministry.
According to the circular, every church service, meeting and programme at all levels of the ministry must conclude no later than 8:00 p.m. until further notice.
The church also announced an indefinite suspension of overnight vigils and prayer meetings. It stated that where such programmes are deemed necessary, they should be converted into evening prayer sessions that must still end on or before 8:00 p.m.
The memorandum, signed by the Director of Administration, MFM International Headquarters and Nigeria, Temitope A. Olawale, explained that the decision was taken as a precautionary measure in response to prevailing security challenges in the country.
“The directives are purely precautionary and aimed at safeguarding the lives and well‑being of our members in the face of the current security situation in the country,” the statement said.
The new guidelines apply to all branches, zones and regions of the ministry nationwide.
MFM directed Mega Regional Overseers to ensure immediate implementation and strict compliance within their respective jurisdictions.
Copies of the circular were also sent to the General Overseer, Assistant General Overseers, the Administrative Task Force, and various ministry departments, including Women on Fire, Tent Makers Ministries and the Youth Ministry.
The church urged all ministers, groups and departments to adhere strictly to the directive, expressing hope for divine protection amid the security concerns.
“May the grace of God Almighty be with us all. Amen,” the circular concluded.
