Stephen Eustaquio reflected on the decisive goal that secured Canada’s hard‑fought win against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, Completesports.com reports.

Eustaquio said the squad gave their all to earn the victory, noting that pleasing their fans was a major incentive.

“We worked hard for this win. We wanted to give it to all Canadians. We kept believing and pushing,” he told FIFA.com.

“It was an amazing goal, but when I shot I felt everyone was with me. Everyone added a bit of power, and it went into the back of the net, so I’m very happy.”

“We’ll try to show Morocco and the Netherlands how we play; if they advance, they’ll face the toughest match in this World Cup. I think we did an amazing job, and the next game will be great.”
