Amusan wins women’s 100m hurdles at Paris Diamond League

Tobi Amusan of Nigeria maintained her strong form by winning the women's 100m hurdles at the Paris Diamond League on Sunday, recording a season‑equalling 12.28 seconds.

It was the third occasion this year that the world‑record holder ran 12.28 seconds, highlighting her consistency across the Diamond League.

At Stade Charléty, Amusan finished well ahead of the pack. American Grace Stark took silver in 12.38 seconds, and fellow Nigerian Johnson finished third in 12.39 seconds.

Earlier this season, Amusan had matched the 12.28‑second mark at the Xiamen and Rabat Diamond League meetings, making Sunday’s victory another strong statement before the season’s climax.

The Paris meeting ran on a revised timetable after a severe heatwave across France caused organisers to cancel all lower‑tier youth and regional club events that weekend.

Even with track temperatures reaching 32 °C, Amusan delivered a commanding performance.

She launched strongly from the blocks, cleared every hurdle cleanly, built a decisive lead midway, and then cruised to the finish.

The victory bolsters the 29‑year‑old’s standing as a favourite for the Diamond League Final, with her consistent form ranking her among the world’s leading sprint hurdlers this season.
