Chelsea reportedly has no plans to sign Arsenal forward Ethan Nwaneri or Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall this summer.
The club has been linked with both players during the current transfer window as Xabi Alonso prepares for his first season as head coach.
Alonso will officially take over on 1 July, having been appointed last month after Liam Rosenior left at the end of the previous season.
With the summer window open, Chelsea is already being mentioned as a destination for several potential new signings.
However, the club has not completed any deals this summer, and it is unclear when they will begin adding reinforcements for the upcoming campaign.
The future of Nwaneri and Bergvall has been a subject of speculation as the new season approaches, and an update has emerged regarding their prospects.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea is not currently planning to pursue either player this summer, despite rumors that both could be targets.
Nwaneri spent the second half of last season on loan at Marseille, while Bergvall made 33 appearances for Spurs in all competitions, including 23 in the Premier League.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for each player, but neither appears set to join Chelsea this summer, even though reports suggest Bergvall is keen to leave Tottenham.
The Sweden international, who is under contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, is said to be attracting interest from clubs across the Premier League and Europe.
Nwaneri is currently on summer break after participating in the England squad’s pre‑World Cup training camp in the United States.
