Nigerian singer Brymo has urged his peers to step back and allow emerging artists to take center stage in the music industry.
In a recent interview with TVC, the Ara crooner criticized fellow musicians Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy for attempting to dominate the industry and maintain perpetual relevance through the so‑called “Big 3” narrative.
Brymo said that newer talents such as Rema should be the ones leading pop conversations, rather than the so‑called “Big 3” or veteran artists.
He added, “We need to stop talking about how the new artists lack lyrical substance and focus on how some artists want to lock down the industry for themselves with the ‘Big 3’ narrative and continue reigning forever.”
“They should shift aside. Right now, Rema should be the biggest pop star in the country without any doubt. All this talk about Wizkid, 2Face, Olamide, Burna Boy. Why? In the Pop scene?? Wetin dem dey sing? You can plug the radio but nobody likes your stuff anymore. Move aside, evolve.”
