APC sweeps Gombe local council elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured every one of the 24 chairmanship seats and all 240 councillorship positions in the recently concluded local government elections in Gombe State.

The State Independent Electoral Commission (GOSIEC) announced the results on Saturday in Gombe, the state capital.

GOSIEC reported that six political parties contested the chairmanship elections.

The parties were the APC, the Youth Party (YP), and the National Rescue Movement (NRM).

Other participants included the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), the African Action Congress (AAC), and the Democratic Liberation Alliance (DLA).
