The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied the authenticity of a circulating list claiming to contain the names of candidates who won its recent primaries, labeling the list as false and unauthorised.
In a statement released on Sunday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, confirmed that no official list of primary winners had been published.
“The APC hereby informs the general public that it has not released the official list of successful candidates from its recently-conducted primaries,” he said.
Morka urged members, stakeholders and the public to ignore any reports or publications that present the alleged outcomes of the primaries.
He added that successful candidates would be notified through the party’s official channels, and that certificates of return would be issued following established procedures.
The spokesperson called on the public to rely exclusively on official party communications.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened a window for political parties to upload the names of candidates emerging from primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
While the APC maintains that its list of successful candidates was never made public, NAN confirmed from party sources that internal collation and verification processes are underway, pending the eventual release of the list.
The source said that distancing the party from the circulating fake list is necessary to prevent misinformation and confusion among aspirants, members, and voters.
