Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Olohundare Jimoh, who commands Zone 2 Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, expressed deep sorrow and offered condolences to the Lagos State Police Command following the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Salihu Khan.

A statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer DSP Afolayan Gbenga, released on Monday, confirmed that the deceased had served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration at the Lagos State Police Command.

“His death has left a deep void within the Nigeria Police Force and among colleagues who had the privilege of serving with him,” the statement read.

In describing Khan, AIG Jimoh said, “He was an exceptionally dutiful, disciplined, and highly professional police officer whose commitment to service, integrity, and dedication to duty earned him the admiration and respect of both superiors and subordinates.”

“He embodied the finest ideals of policing and remained steadfast in the discharge of his responsibilities throughout his distinguished career,” Jimoh added.

The statement noted that the news of Khan’s passing came as a “rude shock” and that the Nigeria Police Force had lost “a dependable administrator, a loyal colleague, and a committed public servant whose contributions to the growth and development of the Force will always be remembered.”

“AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh joins the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, the officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command, family members, friends, and colleagues in mourning this irreparable loss,” the statement said.

AIG Jimoh also prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family and the entire police family, asking God to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings.
