Tournament Ends in Grand Style
The 10th Chief Mike Nkwoji Memorial Golf Tournament finished on a high note at Aba Sports Club 1926, marking the end of a decade‑long tribute.
More than 200 amateur golfers and leading professionals played the event, beginning at 7 a.m. and concluding on the symbolic 19th hole at 3 p.m., a reminder in golf that there is always another shot.
Representing the family’s legacy, Iyom Ongodi Nkwoji and her son, Obi Nkwoji, were on the course, joining players in honoring Chief Mike’s contributions to the club and community.
Edeh Michael won Category One with a net score of 76, followed by S. T. Ajah in second place with a net of 77 and U.C. Anuruo in third with a net of 81.
Category Two was claimed by Ronnis Eronini (handicap 14) with a net score of 69; Orji Nwokeka and Mike Jaja finished second and third. In Category Three, Ossy Adubasim won, with Anowa Kingsley and Grando Timitimi taking second and third places.
Samuel Udensi secured Category Four by count‑back over Martins Orizu, both recording a net of 80; golf section captain Bona Anyadiaso finished third. Ogben Ifeanyi won the Veteran Men category, and Jerry O Kalu claimed the Super Veteran Men title.
Susan Cole‑Kotas (handicap 15) won the Ladies 0–18 category with a net of 83, ahead of Love Okoho (handicap 11) who scored 89 and Osinachi Ndukwu (handicap 14) who finished third with a net of 90.
In the Ladies 19–28 category, Uwabor Angela (handicap 22) emerged victorious. Ebere Omeziri (handicap 34) won the Ladies 29–36 category. Ifeyinwa Ude
