Wimbledon: Djokovic Praises Serena's Inspirational Comeback

Novak Djokovic, a veteran tennis star, praised Serena Williams’ return to professional tennis as truly inspirational and epic, noting the intense effort and gym work the 44‑year‑old is putting into her preparations for the tournament.

Serena Williams, a 23‑time Grand Slam champion, is making a sensational return to Wimbledon after a nearly four‑year absence.

She accepted a wild‑card entry for the women’s singles tournament and is also playing women’s doubles alongside her older sister Venus.

“I see her in the gym more than I have, I think, seen her when she was at her prime,” Djokovic, a 24‑time major champion, said of Williams, a 23‑time major winner in singles.

“It tells me that she really wants this to work out the best way possible.”
