ADC chieftain Austin Okai has stated that former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello will not be able to avoid imprisonment.
Bello is currently under trial for an alleged N110.4 billion fraud case brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
On Tuesday, a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja, rejected an application filed by the ex‑governor that challenged the court’s jurisdiction over the case.
Responding to the ruling, Okai, a Kogi‑born socio‑political activist, said nothing will prevent Bello from going to jail.
He urged Kogi politicians to align themselves with the ADC, suggesting that this shift would signal the end of alleged rigging by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He wrote, “Yahaya Bello is going to prison; it’s an obvious fact that he can’t escape it. Every wise politician in Kogi State should start identifying with the ADC now.”
“APC rigging machines will not be able to function from Kuje,” he added.
