Lady who worked with Alex Ekubo in 2022 reveals what she noticed

Popular Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo continues to attract emotional responses online after reports of his death, with colleagues and crew members sharing their memories of working alongside him on film sets.

A woman who collaborated with the actor on two different productions posted a heartfelt tribute, calling him one of the kindest performers she has encountered in the Nigerian film industry.

She said she first met Ekubo in 2022 while filming the movie A Sunday Affair. The two later crossed paths again on a separate production in Port Harcourt in 2025.

Despite the several‑year interval between the projects, she noted that he recognized her immediately, even though he could not recall her name.

The woman expressed surprise at how consistently warm and respectful he was toward crew members, highlighting that many in the industry tend to overlook behind‑the‑scenes staff.

“I worked with Alex Ekubo for the first time on A Sunday Affair in 2022, and then we worked on another set in Port Harcourt in 2025,” she wrote.

“He still remembered me. Even though we hadn’t seen each other after A Sunday Affair in 2022, he did not remember my name, but he knew me.

“He was the nicest man. He was always really kind to me.

“He is one of the Nollywood actors whom I’ve worked with who are really kind to crew members.”
