On Thursday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), announced that he had signed the Certificate of Occupancy (CofO) for David Mark, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Wike explained that the CofO would allow Mark to focus on his responsibilities as ADC National Chairman.
He made the statement during the commissioning of an interchange at the intersection of Arterial Road N16 and Ring Road III, which connects Jahi District to Gwarimpa District in the FCT.
The project was part of a series of developments scheduled to mark President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary in office, and the ceremony was attended by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on his behalf.
Wike also criticized Mark for not overseeing the commissioning of any projects in the FCT during his eight-year tenure as Senate President.
Wike said: “Eight as Senate President, never a day did we commission any project in the FCT, Mr President came in 2023, one year in office, Mr President took nine years in office to commission projects, in two years, Mr President took 19 days to commission projects; in three years he took 31 days to commission projects.”
He added: “It’s very obvious, look at the ease of doing business combined from 2010 to 2015 and from 2015 to 2023 the entire C of O that was signed was not more than 4000 but today, three years of Mr President in office
