Eight personnel are believed to have perished when a B‑52 bomber crashed shortly after takeoff in California on Monday, according to the U.S. air force base where the incident occurred.
A statement from Edwards Air Force Base said, “An Air Force B‑52 Stratofortress carrying eight people on a routine test mission crashed today shortly after takeoff at 11:20 a.m. (PDT). Initial indications suggest the crash was not survivable.”
