Hormuz evacuation suspended after attack in Gulf of Oman – UN

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) announced that the evacuation of roughly 11,000 mariners stranded by the Strait of Hormuz closure was suspended on Thursday following an attack on a vessel in the Gulf of Oman.
Earlier in the week, the UN maritime agency had announced plans to evacuate 600 ships and their crews, who were trapped by the US‑Iran conflict, after Washington and Tehran reached a preliminary agreement to end hostilities.
