Abdul‑Malik Badr al‑Houthi, the head of Yemen’s Ansar Allah movement, warned Saudi Arabia that the country could face military action if it refuses to meet the Houthis’ demands.

During a speech on Thursday, the Houthi leader accused the Kingdom of aligning with the United States in its actions and policies against Yemen.

“As the Yemeni people, we will not accept the continuation of the American‑Saudi aggression, occupation, and blockade against our country,” Abdul‑Malik asserted.

The cleric pledged that his movement would work to end the “clear oppression” of Yemen until the people enjoy complete freedom and “regain their national wealth and legitimate rights.”

Abdul‑Malik also said the Houthis are monitoring developments in Somaliland and the activities of Israel, which has recognized the Horn of Africa state as a sovereign nation.

The militant chief stated that Israel’s aim is to gain control over the Gulf of Aden and the Bab el‑Mandeb Strait and establish dominance over the Red Sea.

“We will not stand idly by in the face of an Israeli presence in Somaliland,” he said. “At any time, we will strike against any concentration of the Israeli enemy in Somaliland.”

Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi visited Israel this month, where he held talks with President Isaac Herzog. Both leaders agreed to deepen bilateral relations.
