Twelve people sustained injuries after a confrontation between farmers from Larabar Gadan Sarki and herders from the Majawa and Karade communities in Warawa Local Government Area of Kano State.

Warawa Local Government Chairman Lamido Sunusi Ahmad announced the incident in a statement released by his media aide, Musleem Garindau.

According to the statement, the chairman visited the wounded at Wudil General Hospital and ordered that the local government cover their medical expenses until full recovery.

He praised community leaders and security personnel for their prompt response, noting that peace had been restored in the affected areas.

The chairman cautioned residents against spreading rumors or taking actions that could heighten tensions, urging instead a focus on dialogue to foster peaceful coexistence.

Further remarks came from Warawa Vice Chairman Hon. Ibrahim Abdu Madari, who explained that the dispute involved indigenous residents of the communities.

Madari said the conflict began when a cow wandered into a farmer’s field and ate crops. The farmer allegedly struck the animal, prompting its owner to assault the farmer, and the altercation later escalated into a broader clash.

He again appealed for peaceful living and dispute resolution through dialogue and mutual understanding.
