Security forces have rescued 360 women and children who had been abducted by Boko Haram in Gwoza.
“The over 400 victims have been in captivity since 3 March 2026, and I am very much happy to hear the good news of their safe release,” said the spokesperson.
He praised Borno State Governor Prof Babagana Zulum for his relentless effort in rebuilding Ngoshe and for supporting both the military and the victims.
The spokesperson also thanked Hajiya Zubaida Umar, Director‑General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), for distributing relief materials to displaced people.
He urged the military and other security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the more than 40 pupils and students who were recently abducted at schools in Mussa village of Askira‑Uba Local Government Area, as well as many others still in captivity.
He called on the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs to complement the Borno State Government’s efforts in rebuilding Ngoshe and other communities affected by Boko Haram/ISWAP atrocities.
