On Friday, President Bola Tinubu urged Abuja residents to pay their ground rent and taxes.
He made the appeal during the official commissioning of collector road CN2, Emmanuel Ogala Boulevard, which runs from Arterial Road N16 (Yemi Osinbajo Way) to Arterial Road N20 (Wole Soyinka Way) and includes ILS.5 in Katampe District, marking his third year in office.
The president was represented at the commissioning by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
He also called on residents of the capital to support their communities and protect government infrastructure.
He said: “I ask all residents to pay their taxes, clear your ground rent, support your communities, and protect these infrastructures.”
“Do not turn the work ways into markets, do not vandalize the streetlights, if you see destruction just report it, this road is yours and guide it for your children. May these roads bring prosperity, safety, and unity.”
“To the people of Mabushi and Katampe Districts, thank you for your patience during construction, thank you for believing in us, hope is not a slogan but it’s this road, it’s the light on your street, but the government can’t do it alone and to sustain this.”
