Inspector‑General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Rilwan Disu has named Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Friday by the outgoing FPRO, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Okon Placid.
A native of Etinan Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State, Iniedu earned a degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo and has completed multiple professional trainings, including investigative interviewing, crime scene management, human‑rights‑based policing, strategic communication, and intelligence analysis.
Prior to his appointment, he led the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, coordinating public complaint management and promoting transparency and accountability.
Earlier, he served as Public Relations Officer at the Police College of Information Technology in Kobape, Ogun State, and occupied several other key roles, such as Operations Officer in Yobe State, Area Crime Officer in Abia State, Second‑in‑Command of the 50 Police Mobile Force Squadron in Kubwa, and Officer‑in‑Charge of the Force Headquarters Situation Room.
The IGP conveyed confidence in Iniedu’s capacity to head the Force Public Relations Department, noting that his experience would reinforce the Force’s strategic communication and public engagement initiatives.
