Three African nations have secured places in the 2026 World Cup Round of 32.
Côte d’Ivoire earned the third spot after defeating Curacao 2–0 on Thursday night.
The Elephants had to win all three group matches to guarantee progression to the knockouts.
Nicolas Pepe’s double was decisive in helping Ivory Coast finish second in Group E, behind the winners, Germany.
In the next round, the Ivorians will face the runner‑up from Group I.
South Africa also advanced, following a 1–0 victory over South Korea, joining Morocco, who beat Haiti 4–2.
The only African side that has been eliminated is Tunisia.
