The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced that power has been restored to Rivers, Imo, and Bayelsa states following repairs to the Alaoji‑Owerri 132‑kV transmission lines 1 and 2.
TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah confirmed the restoration in a statement issued on Wednesday.
Earlier, on Tuesday, TCN had reported a forced outage on the Alaoji transmission line that caused power disruptions in the same three states.
TCN added that the lines were re‑energised on Wednesday following the successful repairs.
TCN noted that the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) and Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) can now off‑take power for customers in Imo, Yenagoa, and Rivers (Ahoada).
“With the successful restoration of both transmission lines, the Alaoji–Owerri transmission corridor is now fully operational.”
“EEDC and PHEDC can now off‑take the full load for onward distribution to their customers,” TCN said.
