In June, Nigeria opened the month with a 2‑2 draw against Poland in Warsaw.
The Super Eagles were defeated 2‑1 by Portugal in another friendly held in Leiria on Wednesday night.
They remain third in Africa, behind Morocco’s Atlas Lions and Senegal’s Teranga Lions.
Algeria’s Desert Foxes and Egypt’s Pharaohs occupy the other top five spots on the continent.
On the global stage, the top five teams are unchanged: Argentina holds the number one position, followed by Spain, France, England, and Portugal.
