Chelsea legend John Terry has said that former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel is deeply disappointed by Nigeria’s absence from this year’s FIFA World Cup, as it limits his ability to provide commentary.

The former England international made the remark during a virtual media roundtable on SuperSport.

Terry explained, “Nigeria will be a big miss. I would have loved to see a top team, like Nigeria, at the World Cup because they have some great individuals.”

He added, “I know Obi is very upset that they are not there. It means he can’t do more commentary on the World Cup, and that is why he is upset.”

The World Cup begins today, and Nigeria will not participate after failing to qualify.
