Mrs. Queen Chinyere Tim‑Opurum, who is running for the Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, said the area has endured too much neglect in representation.
She made the statement during a visit to the four local government areas that comprise the constituency, ahead of the upcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries.
She explained that the purpose of her trip was to gain the support of residents for her bid to represent them.
If elected, Tim‑Opurum pledged to end the neglect and reminded voters that her own philanthropic work and foundation had already helped many constituents without government assistance.
She highlighted that she has provided humanitarian services—poverty‑relief programmes, healthcare delivery, empowerment initiatives, scholarships, and other interventions—particularly to the less‑privileged residents.
She said her legislative agenda would focus on sponsoring and supporting bills that directly improve constituents’ welfare, advocating for laws that promote economic inclusion, job creation, and social protection, and ensuring that every action aligns with the constituency’s needs.
She also stressed that she would prioritize women and gender inclusion laws, youth development and employment legislation, agriculture and rural development policies, education reform and access, and effective oversight and accountability.
She praised Governor Hope Uzodimma, describing his performance in the state as sterling.
In separate statements, the APC chairmen of Njaba, Isu, and Nkwerre LGAs—Chief Chukwudi Egeuka, Hon. Chris Ibeh, and Hon. Ugochukwu Ibekwe—confirmed the party’s backing for her.
A woman leader from Isu LGA, Mrs. Mercy Njoku, also spoke, saying women were firmly behind Tim‑Opurum and that she would perform excellently if elected.
