Real Madrid say no contact with Bayern’s Olise

Real Madrid announced on Saturday that it has not contacted Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise regarding a possible transfer.

The France international, who is currently playing in the World Cup, has been linked to Madrid by Spanish media, with reports suggesting the club was considering a bid of more than 200 million euros ($230 million).

“In light of the information published in various media outlets regarding an alleged interest of our club in Bayern Munich player Michael Olise, Real Madrid wishes to clarify that they have not had any direct or indirect contact with the aforementioned footballer, his representatives, or people in his circle,” the club said in a statement.

Madrid added that it maintains an “excellent institutional relationship” with Bayern and that the reports “do not correspond to reality”.

Olise joined Bayern from Crystal Palace in 2024 for around 60 million euros and helped Vincent Kompany’s side win the Bundesliga and reach the Champions League semi‑finals.

With Portuguese veteran José Mourinho appointed as coach earlier in June, Real Madrid has already made several summer signings.

The club signed Bernardo Silva and Ibrahima Konaté on free transfers and paid 55 million euros for Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella.

After two consecutive seasons without a major trophy, the 15‑time Champions League champions are restructuring their squad.
