The Adamawa State Police Command confirmed that Adamu Yahaya, a resident of the Hosere area of Jambutu in Yola North Local Government Area, was arrested in connection with the kidnapping of the siblings.
State Police Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Nguroje disclosed that on Tuesday, 16 June 2026, Samaila Musa of Hullere Gwalamba, Yola North LGA, reported to the State Intelligence Department (SID) that on 12 June 2026, three of his sons had been abducted and taken to an unknown destination.
Musa provided the names and ages of the children: Adamu Samaila Sultan, 24; Bilal Abdurrahman, 8; and Yau Sani Baba Iyali, 10.
The complainant added that the abductors later contacted the family and demanded a ransom for the release of the victims.
“Upon receipt of the report, Commissioner of Police Kabir Hassan immediately directed the Command’s operatives to launch a discreet investigation and deploy intelligence and technical assets,” Nguroje explained.
