Oyo Government Removes Security Curfew After Oriire Abductions, Assures Residents' Safety

Yesterday, the Oyo State Government lifted the curfew that had been imposed on 10 local government areas after the kidnapping incident in Oriire.


The government, ‎in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, said residents may now resume normal activities and thanked the people in the affected areas for their cooperation and understanding.


‎Oyelade also said the government is closely monitoring the security situation and assured residents that efforts to end the kidnapping episode are continuing. The curfew was first imposed for 16 hours, then extended by an additional day on Thursday.
