NPFL: Rivers United, 3SC, and Barau FC Compete for Mairiga Title

Wikki Tourists midfielder Jonathan Mairiga has attracted interest from three Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs, reports the DAILY POST.

The clubs contesting the player’s signature are Rivers United, Barau FC and Shooting Stars.

During the 2025‑26 season, Mairiga scored 14 goals for Wikki Tourists.

He also helped the Bauchi Elephants reach the quarter‑finals of the President Federation Cup.

Sources say the three clubs have already inquired about Mairiga’s availability.

Rivers United and Shooting Stars are leading the race to sign him, as both teams will compete in continental competition next season.

Mairiga is expected to decide on his next move before the start of the 2026‑27 campaign.
