The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has lowered its fuel pump price for the second time in four days.
According to a market survey conducted on Saturday by DAILY POST, NNPCL retail outlets near Airport Junction and Wuse Zone 6 (Berger) in Abuja have cut their petrol price to N1210 per litre, a reduction from N1260.
The state‑owned company therefore reduced the petrol price by N50 per litre.
The move follows a two‑day gap after Dangote Refinery lowered its petrol gantry price by N50 to N1,125 per litre.
Four days earlier, NNPCL had decreased its fuel pump price by N75 per litre to N1260.
With the most recent adjustment, petrol prices in Abuja and surrounding areas now range from N1210 to N1305 per litre.
The domestic fuel cut comes as crude oil prices fall, with West Texas Intermediate at $69 per barrel and Brent crude at $71 per barrel, after easing tensions in the Middle East.
DAILY POST notes that President Bola Tinubu has remained silent despite public calls for a corresponding reduction in domestic fuel pump prices in light of the sharp decline in crude oil prices.
