Jose Mourinho, the manager of Benfica, completed the domestic season without a single defeat.

The team capped the campaign with a 3-1 win against Estoril Praia on Saturday.

Across 34 matches, Benfica secured 23 victories and 11 draws.

Despite the achievement, the club finished third in the Primeira Liga standings.

Benfica accumulated 80 points, trailing champions FC Porto, who finished with 88 points, and Sporting CP, who earned 82 points.

Thus, it is a rare instance of a team completing an entire season unbeaten yet not securing the championship.

Consequently, they will compete in the Europa League rather than the Champions League.
